Pink Sprinkles Plush Creatures!

While I was moping around nursing my hangover yesterday, I ran across these cheerful creatures from Pink Sprinkles Plush. Looking at their charming faces (and some electrolyte/antioxidant mix in my water) put me right as rain, so I thought I would share them with you too! Pink Sprinkles Plush refers to them as "Cute Monsters" but I think I'm going to call them hangover helpers!

Made By Moxie Creatures!

Uh oh! It looks like Made By Moxie's creations were left unattended with the dolls for too long and mayhem ensued! The last guy brought some flowers to try to apologize, but it may be too late, everyone was awfully hungry...

Amanda Louise Spayd's Creatures!

Every so often I run across a creature/creatures so spectacular that I am forced to run to the thesaurus for help! These creatures by Amanda Louise Spayd are no exception!

How to describe them? Mere words don't do them justice! Thank goodness I found some pictures to post! Otherwise I would have had to just write: "beautiful, elegant, lovely, charming, delicate, meticulous, superb, splendid, exquisite, and flawless" and then send you to Flickr, Facebook, Amanda Louise Spayd.com and Amanda Louise Spayd(the blog) to see what I was talking about! This is much better, don't you think?

PlushPlay Creatures!

I know you were wondering what I would buy if I had three hundred dollars. In fact, people ask me all the time "j-monster, what would you buy if you had three hundred dollars?" So I decided to put the question to rest once and for all!
This! This is what I would buy! A Miraculous needle felted snail friend from Mariangela Tan, aka PlushPlay! Mr. Snail is so exquisite (as is all her work!) that I could stare at him for hours! My three hundred dollar dream snail, is currently for sale at My Plastic Heart! Go see him, and all her other amazing creations here, here, and here! Oh! I almost forgot, you can also "like" PlushPlay on facebook. So you should probably go do that too...

P.S. Special thanks to the fantabulous hillyhill, who alerted me to PlushPlay's amazing art!

Mythed Up Creatures!

Now, I know you are wondering what Mythed Up's overly enthusiastic Easter Bunny is doing here in May, and the answer is... Rehab! He drank waaay too much coffee and ate far too many chocolates, and now
Mythed Up has asked us to stage an intervention! This is going to be hard on him. Just look at him, the poor kid hasn't slept since April! If you have any experience with caffeine and chocolate withdrawal, head on over to Mythed Up today, and lend him your support during this difficult time! Come next Easter you'll be glad you did!

Magical Creatures!

Did I ever tell you how much I enjoy Laura George's art? I have not? Well, let me remedy that right now! I have several of her fantastical, ( I love that that is a real word!) and affordable (yay!) prints, hanging here at ionlylikemonsters headquarters. They just tickle me every time I lay eyes on them! You should get some for your headquarters too! I mean, how can you be expected to take over the world without the proper inspiration?!

Phillip the Whistling Dragon

Phillip the Whistling Dragon from Woodyloo keeps capturing my attention! Maybe he has a subliminal whistle, because I keep going back to look at him in my "favorites." Perhaps it's the fact that I cannot whistle my way out of a paper bag, or it could be his very thoughtful gaze, but either way, I am smitten!

Woodyloo has this to say about Phillip: "he's got a vast repertoire of whistles. You just need to have the imagination, and listen carefully, because Phillip just might whistle you a love song".

Ahh, maybe that's what I'm hearing? *swoon*

Veruka Dolls Land Creatures!

I've been looking for a pin cushion for my needle felting needles, so that I could leave them out safely, and grab them quickly when the obsession/possession takes hold. Now, I know I could make my own, but right now I can't stop making Rolands for my Roland Army (and I could never stick needles in a Roland, he'd stick me back!) So, luckily, I found a pin cushion who wants to be stuck with needles, at Veruka Dolls Land! They are perfect, and I've been assured by the proprietor, that these voodoo doll pin cushions enjoy the acupuncture! Go to Veruka Dolls Land to get your own, and while you are there, check out the lesser known "New England Sea Monster," before I scoop him up to live with me as well!

Trouble!

Look at this guy! You can tell he's up to no good! What mischief is he planning now? I shudder to think about the mayhem he and Roland would cause together... On the other hand, he might just be the perfect gift for someone you know whose life is getting just a little too staid and boring! They'll never know what hit them! Order him from Stanley Moons now, and prepare for the hilarity to ensue!

My Caffeinated World Creatures!

I love everything about these! #1 They are fascinating creatures. #2 They are from a shop called My Caffeinated World! #3 They are from a solo exhibit called "The Creatures That Arrive When Coffee And I Collide". #4 They are drawn on coffee stained paper! #5 They are pen and ink with that Edward Gorey-esque detail that I adore (I'm sure there is a name for this, that I am woefully unaware of!) #6 Cephalopod! Once again, some genius has put together the things I love in a way I could never have imagined! Perhaps I should write to him and commission a "Go Girl Energy Drink" series (my second favorite source of caffeine!)

Blogger is acting up, so today's scheduled post has disappeared! Until it returns from cyberspace, here is photo from Roland's last vacation, when he visited Roland-henge!

Mook Creatures!

Mook mook mook! My Grey Sky
has all kinds of mooks for your viewing and purchasing pleasure! I particularly like the way the mask stick looks like a tie when you first look at it. Then they look like Business Shark Mook and Business Owl Mook, and I feel like I've worked with them both!

BlackberryThorn Monsters!

If you love cephalopods and teddy bears (and who doesn't?! ) here we have the perfect hybrid for you! These amazing creatures come to us from Blackberry Thorn and they are available in toothy or sweet teddy bear face, depending on your needs! Choose wisely my friends!

Zombie Cactus Pin Cushion!

I was going to write a description for this awesome Zombie cactus pin cushion from She Who Stamps but once again, I am forced to quote the shop description due to its wonderfulnessness (real word!) It's not MY fault these peoples are so talented, funny and clever! So here goes:

This cactus pincushion will look extra spiky with all your pins in place. Or just keep him out as a decoration. The sombrero is just pinned on, so you can remove or arrange it as you choose. He is even lower maintenance than the real thing. The extra bonus being that he is already undead, so he can't go and die on you no matter what you do.

If he gets feisty, just add more pins to keep him in line. If he starts to stalk you, you'll know instantly by the clomp clomp clomp of his planter. It's a nifty little zombie protection feature, and it could save your life. He is my largest zombie yet, he is 8.5 inches from table to the top of his sombrero. Needle felted from 100% wool, he has his eye on you. The other eye, well, it's kinda looking past you, but don't think he doesn't have you in his sight!

He's willing to earn his keep. Do you have dead-beat kids who just won't move out? Are your house guests overstaying their welcome? Place this cactus on the nightstand in their room. Just a plain, unassuming cactus, nothing to see here. Then, just before bedtime, sneak in there and turn him so the zombie side is visible. The next morning they will be packed up and on the road before you're even out of bed. That is value for your money, my friends!

Monster Friends! See them all in the older posts!
